At home with @parysatis

[NVG] Hi Parysatis! Can you tell us a little more about yourself, who you are and what you do?

I'm Parysatis, co-founder of Harmony Homes, a collection of countryside homes available to rent with hotel-style services, designed to host groups of 10 to 25 guests. My day-to-day life is a mix of communication, interior design and renovation. I love beautiful things, spaces that tell a story and places where you instantly want to stay a little longer. That's exactly what inspired me to create Harmony.

[NVG] We're here in Marseille, home to our new store... What place does this city hold in your life and in your home?

I moved to Marseille in 2020 and I've never left. The city surprised me and completely won me over. It's unlike anywhere else: raw, sun-filled and authentic. It has profoundly shaped the way I see spaces and colours. I think you can feel that influence in my work too.

[NVG] How would you describe the style of your home? Where do you find your inspiration?

My home is a blend of Mediterranean warmth and understated elegance. Natural materials, calming colours and objects with soul. I draw a lot of inspiration from my travels. I've lived in Dubai, Malta and Paris, and each place has left its mark on the way I decorate. And of course, Harmony Homes constantly feeds my creative eye. I spend my days selecting homes, transforming them and carefully considering every detail.

[NVG] Where do you spend most of your time at home on a daily basis?

Without a doubt, on my terrace. It's my office, my living room and my place to unwind. The light in Marseille at certain times of the day is truly extraordinary—it transforms everything. That's where I have my morning coffee, work and welcome friends. It's where I feel happiest.

[NVG] What was your vision for this home the first time you walked in?

It was love at first sight. I walked in and got goosebumps. There was something about the light and the sense of space. I didn't need much time to imagine what it could become—I already felt at home. The vision was clear from the very first moment because the foundations were already incredible.

[NVG] When it comes to decorating, are you driven more by instinct or by careful consideration?

A bit of both, but instinct always comes first. I can fall in love with an object or a material in a matter of seconds. Then comes the reflection: does it fit into the overall picture? Does it tell a coherent story? But without that initial spark, nothing happens. That's what guides everything.

[NVG] What's your favourite NV GALLERY piece in your home? And why?

I have a real soft spot for the Anabela, Amelia and Rita vases. They make up a trio that I absolutely love. Each one has its own personality, yet together they create something beautifully harmonious. And then there's the Brighton floor lamp. There's an elegance to its silhouette that completely transforms the atmosphere of a room. In the evening, with its soft light reflecting on the glass partition, it feels truly magical.

[NVG] Tell us about an object or a piece of furniture in your home that has a special story.

Above my glass partition, there's a mural of Marseille's Old Port. It was there before I moved in, and it will still be there long after I'm gone. Every previous owner of this apartment chose to keep it, as though it were part of the walls themselves, part of the home's DNA. I embraced it from the very beginning. It reminds me that some things have a longer life than we do, and that it's important to respect them and pass them on.
